Originally a large animal
vet, Dr. Jack changed his focus in 1991 to companion animals, with
a special interest in Reptiles, Avian (especially Raptors) and Exotic
species, as there were almost no vets handling these type animals back
then but there was a real need for it. Additionally, he found it challenging and
fun, as he still does today.
Donating his time and
expertise to numerous wildlife centers, Dr. Jack also lectures at centers
and annual symposiums to rehabilitators and other veterinarians
alike. Additionally, slide shows, with live specimens of all kinds of
critters, are done for school children and summer kids camps.
Dr. Jack worked with the
famous Dr. Francis Cipullo at the Appalachian Animal and Exotic Hospital
in Gilmer County, Georgia where bears, cougars, reptiles, skunks and
various other wildlife were a daily occurrence.
Dr. Jack is State and
Federally Licensed to handle Endangered & Migratory Birds and Exotics.
